Bible Stories for Schools offers free, ready-to-use resources designed to help schools and churches teach Bible stories in meaningful and engaging ways. These materials support school assemblies, collective worship, and enrichment days in local churches, making biblical narratives memorable for pupils. The resources provide everything needed to bring Bible stories to life while fostering strong partnerships between churches and schools.

  • Yes, these resources are free to use! They have been produced by Philo Trust, a UK registered charity (CC 285762) to help schools teach Bible stories such as Christmas and Easter.

  • J.John is a Christian minister, speaker, broadcaster and writer. He lives near London, is married to Killy and is a father and grandfather. You can find out more about him on his website.

  • Teachers using the Bible Stories for Schools resources should carefully consider whether J.John’s books (The Easter Story and The Christmas Story) are suitable for use in their school context. Whilst we have heard of schools that love using the books, it is important to note that the books were not initially written with a school context in mind.

    Whilst Bible Stories for Schools resources draws on these two books, all of the downloadable resources have been created by teachers, for teachers.

    Teachers wishing to use J.John’s books to supplement the learning experience for pupils should do so at their own discretion.

  • There are two ways:

    1. If you want to watch the full length animation, click on ‘all resources’ and either download the video or watch it directly on YouTube.

    2. If you want to watch short clips at the relevant times, we have gone ahead and put these videos directly into the PowerPoints to save you the hassle!
